Make use of what's there
As we look at the world around us, one thing becomes increasingly clear: using products doesn't always have to mean owning them ourselves. At Alvero, we see this development as well. Most of our services focus on temporary deployment of furniture for days, weeks or several months.
In our sustainability report 2024, we take you through the steps we are taking in this regard, within the three pillars of our ESG policy: furniture, people and the supply chain. We show where we stand, what choices we are making, and what improvements we still want to make.
The circle of use
At Alvero, sustainability is all about smart use. We are constantly looking at how we can use our furniture longer, more often, elsewhere, differently or again. That way we get the maximum value out of every product and reduce waste.

Through refurbishment, we give furniture multiple lives and prevent it from being written off prematurely.
Femke: "This office chair had a broken armrest. In our workshop it was reconditioned and cleaned. This way it can last for years again and we avoid waste."
Joris: "A customer was looking for extra office chairs. In their storage there were twenty unused ones. Thanks to our furniture management system, they came back into use."
Riliƫnka: "The Pixel Tower is modular and versatile: from seating to consultation areas. As soon as it's finished at one customer, it moves on to the next. No downtime, but sustainable use over and over again."
Stan: "Table tops from home workstations get a second life at our place. We put them on new bases and repurpose them for other workplaces."
Jagath: "This roller door cabinet was already in office units in various industrial areas. Now we are preparing it for its next destination: a village hall here nearby."
Our impact in 2024
Sustainability is all about doing. That's why we measure and share our results every year. In 2024, among other things, we achieved 60% less wood waste through repurposing, used 100% green electricity in the Netherlands and reduced our carbon footprint to 3,371 tons of carbon. We also made our first sustainability report according to the SME CSRD standards.
With 87 colleagues, we work daily on smarter use of furniture, certified wood and safe processes. This is how we are building a future together that is both practical and sustainable.

Our emissions reduction mapped
We are proud to share with you our first CO2 report for 2023, in which we share with you our progress in emissions reduction. Understanding our own emissions is an important step toward our dream: making the work environment circular. In this, rental furniture and our own operations play a decisive role. In our report, you will find a detailed analysis of our efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and make our operations more sustainable.
