Designing temporary and semi-permanent buildings
Neste is the world's largest producer of renewable diesel and renewable jet fuel from waste and residue streams. Primarily, they are concerned with combating climate change and promoting the circular economy. By helping the transportation sector and cities, aviation customers and the polymer and chemical industries make their operations more sustainable.
Total solution
Through one of our partners, Neste came to Alvero because they needed major maintenance. In addition, they had started (re)constructing the offices, so semi-permanent buildings were placed. This involved not only the buildings, but also their complete furnishing with work, meeting, changing and lunch areas. For both colleagues and temporary colleagues, who are active on Neste's premises.
See, test, choose
As Shutdown Lead Logistics, Sebastiaan van Kempen came to us partly because he wanted to create the most appropriate environment possible for both the short (tents) and long term (buildings). Together with our colleagues Huub Verheijen, Mark Verheijen and Nick Simons, a solution was devised and realized for his challenges.
Sebastiaan van Kempen, Shutdown Lead Logistics"The furnishings depend on the purpose of use. For example, some teams walk in and out in dirty clothes; the furniture is adapted to that."
Insight and solutions
One of Neste's core values is we care. Focused on the employees and in this case to make them feel at home in their circular (temporary) working environment. We wanted Sebastiaan to be able to make the right choices, so we invited him to Alvero in Oosterhout to assess, test and choose various, selected setups. It was important to him that the furnishings fit seamlessly with the main core values as well as the company Neste.
