On Wednesday, August 20, the SAIL-IN took place: the official opening of SAIL 2025. On this day, all Tall Ships sail from IJmuiden in the direction of Amsterdam. Via the North Sea Canal they will arrive at the IJ, where they will moor for the following days and can be admired up close by hundreds of thousands of visitors.
This year the entry was extra festive. Not only because it was the tenth edition of SAIL, but also because Amsterdam celebrated its 750th anniversary. More than 80 Tall Ships sailed into the city, an impressive and colorful sight. From our own boat, together with a large group of relations, we enjoyed the special spectacle, the weather which cooperated fully and the good conversations on board.
The SAIL-IN of 2025 was a day to look back on with pleasure.
